If you are a young women thinking about what your birth control options may be, it might be very easy for you to get confused. Don’t let confusion stop you from making a decision because you have to find a way to protect yourself if you are going to be having sex. Although birth control can be confusing and you may not know what you are doing, you have to do something. There are people you can talk to if you are scared or confused, and also places you can go to get help. Never leave it to chance, and always make sure you are making an informed decision.

The best of your birth control options is abstinence. I know most teenagers don’t listen to this advice and I was one of them. Looking back now I wish I had. I didn’t get pregnant, but that was only because I was very lucky. My regret comes from giving up my body to those who made a good show of caring about me, but in reality, they never really did. This is the best of the birth control options for both your body and your self worth, so please at least consider it if you are reading this.

You other birth control options are where you might start getting confused. I realize that some people are determined to have sex and talking about abstinence isn’t going to help keep them from getting pregnant. It is not important what type of birth control you use; the important thing is that you use it. A pregnancy can happen to any one at any time, and don’t let anyone tell you anything different. If they are telling you that you aren’t going to get pregnant if you have unprotected sex, you should know they are lying to you, probably just to get you to do it. Insist on birth control or just don’t do it.

Though many people might the next best of the birth control options might be the Pill, I have to say that I disagree with that. That is only part of the solution. If you are on the Pill, you still need to make sure the male wears a condom. I don’t care how cute or sweet his is, or how innocent he claims to be he could give you more than a baby. He may give you a disease that you cannot get rid of, and you could get very sick. Talk to a doctor or someone you trust about birth control options, and remember that what you hear may help you from destroying your life. If you must have sex like an adult, the least you can do is be responsible about it, just like an adult should be.
