Dollhouse Furniture

This year for Christmas, my sister in law bought my daughter a brand-new dollhouse. This dollhouse is about 3 feet tall and 2 feet wide, and is painted pink and purple. Though it is not in the biggest dollhouse I have ever seen, it certainly has a lot of play room for my daughter’s dolls. When my daughter opened the gift, my sister-in-law explained that the dollhouse furniture was on back order and would be coming soon. I have not seen these items yet, but if I go by what that dollhouse looks like, I can assume it is going to be very cool. I think my daughter will like it as well.

I am looking forward to seeing the dollhouse furniture that my sister in ordered. Though the dollhouse is not as big as some I have seen, there is plenty of room for the dollhouse furniture that is coming, and if you consider the size of her Barbie dolls it seems to be ok. I do not see my sister in law very often so she will be sending the furniture through the mail. Though the mail is very careful with things these days, I worry that the furniture may be broken en route to our house.

Because the dollhouse is made out of wood, I assume the dollhouse furniture that is being sent to us is made out of wood also.  I hope that it is made of sturdy material, because my daughter can be quite rough, as are most five year old girls. Most of the dollhouse furniture she has had in the past has been made of plastic, so I may have to tell her to be more careful when she gets her new furniture in the mail. The dollhouse may have been made for older children, and I guess that just means I will have to teach her to be more careful.

Since my daughter got her new dollhouse, it has been sitting in the corner untouched. I hope when the dollhouse furniture comes she will be more interested in playing with her new toy. It seems that many of her toys are forgotten because she has so many from which to choose. Perhaps the dollhouse furniture will be what she needs to get her interested again. I guess things just are not as they were when I was a child.  Back then, everything was interesting to no toy was left untouched.
