New Born Baby Names
Just the other day, I was at my daughter's school, waiting to pick her up. I saw a woman stroll in with a small boy, who's probably two years old. He began to play and run around like children do. But when he distanced himself a bit from the mother, I heard the mother call out to him, "John!" Now, this is where I have trouble understanding. Who still names their boy John? The name has been used redundantly and profusely over the years. I mean, there must be over a billion Johns on this planet. Every unknown corpse is a John Doe and every 80s hero in a film is John something rather. How can parents still want to choose this plain, tired name? It's not that it's bad, but it's just so common.
